Culinary & Bartenders Unions Legal Service Fund

2018 08 29 CALV Photoshoot 079

The Legal Service Fund was developed through a partnership between the Culinary Workers Union Local 226, UNITE HERE Bartenders Union Local 165, participating employers, and Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada to help safeguard the legal and economic wellbeing of eligible employees and their families.

For hotel, casino, and other employees eligible under the Legal Service Fund, Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada has a team of attorneys and advocates available to help with particular legal matters in the covered areas listed below.  The type and level of service you’ll receive depends on the nature of your legal problem, the merits and urgency of your case, and the volume of eligible employees needing assistance, among other things. You might receive self-help services to help you represent yourself, or classes and workshops to learn about the law and prepare legal forms, or counsel and advice on particular questions, or other services as warranted.

If you need assistance with unemployment benefits, the first step is to contact the union at 702-385-2131 to verify eligibility. The union will refer all eligible members to the Legal Service Fund Program.

If you meet our eligibility requirements and need assistance for other matters, call the Legal Service Fund Program directly at 702-386-1550.

To learn more about the services available in each covered area and how to schedule an appointment with the Legal Service Fund Program team, click on the covered area that interests you. To access a downloadable flyer for this program, click here.
