Clark County Expands Programs for Tenants
Clark County Social Service (CCSS) updated programs and eligibility requirements for tenants. Rent and utility assistance applications previously submitted under Eviction CHAP will be reviewed by CCSS using the new eligibility requirements.
Eviction Prevention
This program is for Clark County residents who are behind in rent and have plans to pay future rent. Rental assistance may be available for up to twelve months of past due rent plus three months of future rent.
If the eviction is unavoidable or the tenant has already been evicted, the tenant may be eligible for relocation assistance.
Eligibility:
- Must be past due and have a plan to pay future rent
- Hasn't previously received assistance through Clark County's CARES Housing Assistance Program (CHAP)
- Must be income eligible (see table below)

Fixed Income CHAP
This program is for Clark County residents whose income is from Social Security, veterans benefits, disability benefits, or pension. Assistance may be available for rent and utilities up to twelve months.
Eligibility:
- Rent increased in the past twelve months
- Hasn't previously received assistance through Clark County's CARES Housing Assistance Program (CHAP)
- Eviction notice served for non-payment of rent
- Must be on fixed income and subject to income guidelines (see table below)

Financial Assistance Services
This program is for Clark County residents in need of housing related expenses, including rent, mortgage payments, and utility payments. Households are eligible once every twelve months with exceptions made in certain circumstances. HopeLink of Southern Nevada
HopeLink can cover up to four months of rent for Henderson residents but must include the current month. All rent applicants will be sent to them from eviction court so they can prioritize households with the most immediate needs. Click here for details.
Economic Opportunity Board
The Economic Opportunity Board can pay one month's rent directly to the tenant. To be eligible, applicants must have an income less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Limit. Call 702-445-7105 for more information.
Lutheran Social Services of Nevada
Lutheran Social Services of Nevada can provide temporary rental assistance to individuals who are at risk of homelessness or currently experiencing homelessness. The availability of this service varies throughout the year depending on the funding source. To apply for services, email
