Nevadans facing legal issues during the coronavirus pandemic can still seek remote assistance from Legal Aid of Southern Nevada.

The agency has an online legal and financial toolkit that covers topics from food assistance and rent to student loans.

“We will continue to update the toolkit with important legal information and resources as we monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation,” Executive Director Barbara Buckley said.

The agency will also provide remote legal assistance over the phone at 702-386-1070 or by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The agency’s Family Law Self-Help Center is closed for in-person visits but is available to help victims of domestic violence obtain temporary protection orders over the phone or by email upon court approval. The center can be reached at 702-455-1500.

“We understand how important social distancing is to decrease the COVID-19 outbreak and recognize how devastating it can be for victims of domestic and sexual abuse who are trapped at home,” Buckley said.

“Our staff quickly navigated obstacles to transform delivery of legal services so that we can continue to provide justice for victims of domestic violence as well as abused and neglected youth in foster care, seniors, and community members rocked by this pandemic,” she said.

The center also manages the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center, which provides resources for those impacted by the Oct. 1, 2017, mass shooting on the Strip. The Resiliency Center can be reached at 702-455-2433 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
