Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada's Resiliency & Justice Center assists survivors of human trafficking with their civil legal needs in a private, confidential setting. Examples of our free legal services include sealing or vacating criminal records, repairing damaged credit reporting, identity theft, consumer debt issues, name changes, family law issues, immigration assistance (T Visa, U Visa), evictions, and recovery of property or civil action against a trafficker.
We also provide free legal assistance to youth and older teens in the foster care system. We represent youth in dependency actions to ensure their voice is heard and they are connected to services through our Children’s Attorneys Project. For more information, click here.
How to Recognize the Signs of Human Trafficking
Do you have a controlling partner, friend, or parent who won't let you speak or meet with others alone or who keeps track of where you go, who you speak with, and how much money you spend?
Do you live where you work or are you transported by someone else from your home to your workplace on a consistent basis?
Do you have a job where it's not unusual to be pressured into performing sexual acts in exchange for money?
Do you want to stop taking part in transactions involving sex for money but you are too scared to stop or feel you cannot change your situation?
