Guardianship

Grandfather and grandson outside happyWe provide free legal services to low income individuals and families who are in need of assistance with uncontested guardianships involving children.  Guardianship cases are typically filed by third parties (such as grandparents) seeking to assume legal, parental responsibilities over children.  To apply for a free attorney for an uncontested minor guardianship case, you must first attend the free Guardianship Class. At the end of the class, you will receive an intake packet with instructions and a list of required documents.  Complete the packet and bring it to our office anytime Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm to meet with a legal advocate. You can access more information and forms related to guardianship on the Family Law Self Help Center website HERE.  Information about the Guardianship Class is on our calendar HERE.   The Supreme Court of Nevada established a Nevada Guardianship Compliance Office and a Guardianship Fraud Hotline to report concerns.  The hotline number is 1-833-421-7711. More information about the Compliance Office can be found HERE.
