Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada provides advice, training, advocacy, and legal representation for children with disabilities who are entitled to special education services under federal and state law. Legal Aid Center seeks a law clerk who is passionate about education rights for all children and specifically, child welfare cases.
Under the direction of an attorney, the Education Advocacy Program law clerk will perform legal research and writing, review records and files, and assist the staff with existing cases. The law clerk will also be instrumental in preparing for education related meetings and contested matters, and potentially with litigation. The assistance the clerk will provide has the potential to significantly affect the lives of families with children who have disabilities and children in the foster care system. The time commitment is a minimum of 15 hours per week under public interest grants if applicable, or at the pay rate of $18.00 per hour. Please note that this is an in person position.
