The Guardianship Advocacy Program at Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is seeking a full-time attorney to represent children in minor guardianship actions. The attorney will champion the rights of minors in guardianship court and ensure that their voice is heard and their rights are preserved and enforced in the action. As part of Legal Aid Center’s minor guardianship work, this attorney will be on the forefront of a new area of practice and will help shape and enforce meaningful protections for minors facing guardianship. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, intelligent, compassionate team play who possesses a passion for public service and a strong commitment to ensuring justice for vulnerable minors in our community.
Preferred Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate is committed to public interest law and community service and has the desire to work with and zealously advocate for our clients. Experience in litigation, as well as family, guardianship, and dependency law is preferred, but not required. The ability to speak Spanish is always beneficial. The candidate must be a licensed attorney in good standing from any United States jurisdiction (Nevada offers special licensing for attorneys relocating to Nevada to provide legal services through Legal Aid Center.)
Salary and Benefits
Starting salary range is $70,000 - $100,000 depending on experience with annual increases available. Our excellent benefits start on date of hire and include:
