Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, a non-profit, public interest law firm, is seeking an exceptional individual with off-the-charts customer service and organizational skills to work as part of a team of attorneys and advocates dedicated to providing legal assistance to casino and other workers as part of a new employee benefit program.  No prior legal experience is necessary, but it is a definite plus.  This unique individual will be the first voice heard by people calling in for legal assistance, so she or he must have great phone skills and a friendly, steady, compassionate demeanor.  This individual will need solid computer skills and must be able to juggle multiple tasks and personalities, all while interviewing callers to gather pertinent information, scheduling appointments, verifying eligibility, and getting callers to where they need to be.  Above all, this individual must be able to thrive in a positive, client-focused, solution-oriented team atmosphere where Legal Aid Center’s mission of preserving access to justice and providing quality legal services is always front and center.


Candidate must have 3 years previous experience as a service coordinator, front desk receptionist, customer service specialist, or equivalent.  Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both English and Spanish.  Comfortable with new technology and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.  Ability to multitask and work effectively with individuals from diverse economic, cultural, and social backgrounds under sometimes stressful circumstances.  Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability deal compassionately with individuals facing legal issues a must.

Salary depends upon experience with a benefits package provided, including health, dental, vision and life insurance for employees and their dependents, vacation/sick time and company matched 403b retirement plan.
