LAS VEGAS – Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada has launched a new, user-friendly website for the Civil Law Self-Help Center.

The new website can be accessed at www.civillawselfhelpcenter.org.

In partnership with the Clark County Justice Courts and the Eighth Judicial District Court, Legal Aid Center runs the Self-Help Center located on the first floor of the Regional Justice Center.

More than 200,000 people have used the Self-Help Center since its opening in December 2009. Many of the forms and resources on the website are also available at the Self-Help Center where staff offers forms and information to assist unrepresented litigants who are going through the maze of the legal process alone.

“We are pleased to launch this virtual legal resource center to assist community members struggling with legal problems,” said Barbara Buckley, executive director of Legal Aid Center. “The website is already receiving over 5,000 visitors a month and helps us achieve our goal of giving everyone a fair chance at having their day in court.”

The website has a number of helpful links, such as links to all of the courts in Clark County, local housing resources, legal resources, senior resources, law libraries, various State of Nevada departments, various Clark County departments, videos, and brochures.
