Clark County CARES Housing Assistance Program (CHAP)

There are new eligibility guidelines for the CHAP program that provides aid to those facing eviction due to non-payment of rent in Clark County, Nevada. Households submitting applications after that time must meet all the criteria for one of the following groups to be considered for rental assistance:

Fixed Income (FI CHAP)

  • A member of your household is on a fixed income (Social Security, VA benefits, pensions, etc.)
  • The household has experienced a rent increase in the last 12 months
  • The household received an eviction notice for nonpayment of rent

Temporary Change of Circumstance (Eviction CHAP)

  • You have had a temporary change in circumstances that has caused you to fall no more than 12 months behind on rent
  • The temporary circumstance has changed or will change so that you can pay rent in the future
  • The household received an eviction notice for nonpayment of rent

HopeLink of Southern Nevada

HopeLink can cover up to four months of rent for Henderson residents but must include the current month. All rent applicants will be sent to them from eviction court so they can prioritize households with the most immediate needs.  Click here for details.

Economic Opportunity Board

The Economic Opportunity Board can pay one month's rent directly to the tenant. To be eligible, applicants must have an income less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Limit. Call 702-445-7105 for more information.

Lutheran Social Services of Nevada

Lutheran Social Services of Nevada can provide temporary rental assistance to individuals who are at risk of homelessness or currently experiencing homelessness.
